COMMISSION A CUSTOM
ARTWORK

Are you interested in commissioning a custom artwork? Commissioning a custom artwork means working directly with an artist to create a one-of-a-kind piece tailored to your specific vision. This process allows you to collaborate on the design, style, size, and subject matter of the artwork, ensuring that the final piece is personal and unique. Whether it's for a special occasion, a gift, or to enhance your space, a commissioned artwork is crafted to reflect your individual preferences and ideas. Here’s an overview of the process, pricing structure, and what you can expect when commissioning an artwork from me.

THE COMMISSION PROCESS

  1. Initial Consultation & Planning. We'll start with a chat about your vision for the artwork, including:

    • Theme & Style: What do you want the artwork to convey? I can create artworks inspired by photos that hold sentimental value or by capturing the essence of colors and locations that resonate with you. I will apply my unique vision and distinctive painting style, using your inspiration and guidelines. While I’m open to your ideas and input, I stay true to my artistic approach, which focuses on capturing the beauty of landscapes in my own way. If you appreciate my existing body of work, you can expect a similar style that brings your vision to life within that framework. Each artwork is an expression of my personal interpretation, blending your ideas with my creative perspective.

    • Size & Medium: We’ll discuss the size of the canvas and medium (e.g., acrylic, mixed media) that best suits your idea.

    • Inspiration: If you have any reference images or styles you admire, feel free to share them.

  2. Quote & Agreement. After we’ve finalised the artwork details, I’ll provide a detailed quote. Costs will be higher than my current original artworks due to the level of coordination that goes into the paintings. The detailed quote will include:

    • Initial Fee: A necessary fee to cover our consultation, order creation, agreement, and material procurement. This non-refundable fee is required before starting the work.

    • Creation Costs: Based on the size and complexity of the piece, including paint/varnish usage etc. and time spent painting.

    • Framing & Delivery (if needed): Framing is not a necessary stage of the commission process, although I can handle the framing with a local framer in Temora if requested, and provide a quote for delivery if you need it posted (the option for collection is available and free).

  3. Once the agreement is signed and the initial fee is paid, I’ll begin working on your piece. Regular updates can be provided as needed, and I’ll ensure we stay aligned with your vision throughout.

  4. Completion & Delivery After the artwork is finished, I will apply a protective isolation coat, varnish and handle framing (if requested). Once payment is finalised, your artwork will be delivered or ready for collection.

TIMEFRAME

I will give you an estimation of how long the artwork will take to create. Please bear in mind that I have other work to complete alongside commissioned artworks, so the estimated timeframe may vary. You can expect most projects to take a couple of months. Paint needs time to cure properly before varnishing and framing can take up to a couple of weeks.

WORKING WITH A BUDGET

I'm happy to work with you if you’re working with a smaller budget. Here are a few ways we can adjust:

  • Opt for a smaller canvas or minimalist design.

  • Frame the artwork yourself at a later date.

  • Arrange for local pick-up instead of delivery.

  • We can make a plan for paying the artwork off in instalments. I also offer Paypal Pay in 4 as a payment method.
