Just some snippets of life that found their way into my work…

Life’s been full behind the scenes lately. I’ve never enjoyed being social media focused, so taking a little time away has been refreshing. There’s just not enough time in the world to plan IG content, on top of everything else that needs attention. Especially when the heart of your business is creating, not content calendars 🙃

I’ve still been here though - welcoming new followers/subscribers, replying to messages and emails, packing and posting, processing prints, and sending commissioned orders on their way. But moving house has been my main focus, along with setting up my new studio and exploring some exciting new mediums to give myself a creative reset before launching my latest works! It feels a bit surreal that nearly 2,000 of you have joined me since April! Welcome to anyone new 👋🏼 This space has become something that reflects the pace, the place, and the people I create for and I’m so glad you’re here.

With my exhibition wrapping up tomorrow, I’ve been reflecting on the beautiful stories and connections that have come from people choosing to collect my work. There’s something powerful about welcoming art into your space and as a collector, you become part of that story too.

‼️ LOW STOCK ‼️  The past couple of weeks have been crazy! With the opening over and done, I’m hard at work with commissions and restocking my website and a few venues.

A moment that feels just right for an autumn Sunday evening. Just colour, light, and the kind of quiet that makes you stop for a second.

That moment during late golden hour, when the world softens, and everything settles into its gentler self. There’s a softness in the leaves, a glow on the gum nuts, a richness in the blue before the sky shifts to night. The kind of moment that doesn’t ask for attention, but still holds it. UPDATE: SOLD 🔴 Introducing ‘Fractured Currents’, framed in Dark Walnut floating frame. This one’s been sitting quietly in the background for a while - some of you have already seen snippets in reels and stories. But here it is… finally!

I painted this piece in a bit of a turning point moment. A time where I felt the need to push past comfort, step into something bolder, and honestly - just separate myself from the noise.

It’s abstract, but grounded. Soothing, but cracked. There’s structure, but also softness. And like most of my work, I didn’t realise what it meant to me until after I finished it.

Now, looking at it… it feels like a self-reminder: You can only be you. Let others imitate. You lead.

‘Fractured Currents’ is the last artwork reveal as part of my upcoming exhibition ASCEND. This piece is the one I hope people come just to experience in person!

Patience is key in the world of textured paint - but let’s be real, waiting for layers to fully dry isn’t always easy! I have an impasto recipe that I mix with acrylics because it lets me achieve that thick, oil paint texture without the long wait time oil paints require (it’s also far less toxic). Every medium has its own drying time, and the thickness of the layers plays a big role in how long it takes to cure properly.

This layering and curing process is what gives my paintings their distinct texture and depth. Each piece is built with intention to hold its form over time!

My attention span for each piece I paint is short-lived, so my process works for me to get my pieces done before I lose interest and start something new 😂 Finding what works best for you is all part of the journey!

What inspires my art? This.

Going through these videos hit me hard. The dust, the sweat, the long days - I miss all of it. There’s something about hands on, practical work that just clicks with me. You’d never catch me in an office.

If you told me three years ago how much my life would change… I don’t think I would’ve believed you. I’d probably laugh at the idea of being an artist, then feel gutted knowing I wouldn’t be farming anymore. But at the same time, I’d be thrilled! Because somehow, I ended up living out an unrealised childhood dream.

But here’s the thing - my art can’t exist without this. It’s all connected. Even in my downtime back then, I was painting, photographing, and creating like crazy. It was never just farming; it was feeding something bigger.

My time spent growing up on the land and later farming wasn’t meaningless. I spent thousands of hours exploring, riding dirk bikes or in the cab of a machine, listening to triple j while working the land. When I wasn’t in a tractor, I was mustering, out in the yards, welding up stock panels, or fencing, often isolated for hours at a time. Every part of it shaped the way I see the land and the way I bring it into my art.

I’ve carried that love for the land since day one, and I know I’ll be back one day.

With layered textures of sand mixed with thick paint - I’ve aimed to capture the raw essence of the earth, where each stroke feels alive with grit and motion. When you resurface from a creative blackout and realise the paint has somehow made it everywhere. Tools I didn’t use? Covered. Cupboards? Speckled. Me? A proper walking artwork. UPDATE: SOLD 🔴 Introducing ‘Ablaze’, artwork no. 2 in my upcoming solo exhibition ‘Ascend’. A fiery piece that explores the interplay of texture, movement, and shadow from an aerial perspective. Drawn to the gritty, rocky, scorched terrain, I wanted to capture both the stillness of the land and the rhythm of motion passing through it. The contrast between solid forms and elongated shadows casting fleeting moments, where heat, dust, and light collide — An invitation to experience the landscape as both grounded and shifting, alive with energy yet shaped by time.
