PRINTING, FRAMING
& CARE

Original artworks are unframed.
Â
All printing and framing is carried out in Australia, by experts with over 30 years of experience. Frames are created using solid wood wherever possible, from local, sustainable sources. The backing boards and mat boards used are acid-free. Frames are delivered with fixtures that allow for easy hanging on existing wall fixings.

FRAMING

Paper Art Frames:

Classic frame
The glazing is placed directly on top of the art without spacers or mat board.
Â
Shadow box frame
Using a box frame, a space is created between the glazing and the art, with a 'spacer'. This adds some depth and shadow for a contemporary feel. The box frame size is 2cm wide and 4cm deep.
Â
Traditional frame
The art is separated from the glazing using a top mat board as a border between the edge of the art and the box frame. The frame size is 2cm wide and 4cm deep.

Canvas Art Frames:

Float Frame
Canvas float frames are sourced locally from FSC-certified suppliers. They are 10mm wide on the face and 55mm deep, fitted with a 5mm space between canvas and frame to create a shadow line. A premium finger-jointed pine stretcher bar is used in either 32mm or 38mm heights. Stretchers over 100cm are braced for extra strength. The artwork is inserted from the front, meaning there is no glazing.

Glazing:
By default, all frames with glazing are acrylic. It is shatterproof and lightweight for simple shipping and safety measures. Glass on the other hand looks more luxurious, and depending on the type, it can eliminate reflection and provide UV filtering. The downfall is that it's likely to shatter in transit. If you are looking for glass as an option, please get in touch. The price will be higher than what is displayed on the website due to the glass being more expensive and a specialised shipping method.

Frame Colours:
Both paper and canvas frames come in the following colours: Oak, White and Black. The frame colour can be upgraded to the following stained colours, at slightly extra cost; White Open Grain Oak, Black Open Grain Oak, Coffee-Stained Tasmanian Oak. Chocolate-Stained Tasmanian Oak.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Limited edition:
Limited edition prints are produced in a specific, predetermined number, making each print part of a limited run. This scarcity enhances their value and exclusivity. These prints are printed with a white border and are signed with a digitally attached handwritten signature from the artist and numbered. This adds to their authenticity and collectible nature, and they can increase in value over time, especially if the artist gains prominence. Prints that are part of the limited edition collection will state "limited edition" along with the specific number of runs, in the artwork description. Please note that there is no certificate of authenticity included for limited edition prints. Landscape and portrait examples:

Open edition:
In contrast, open edition prints have no limit on the number of reproductions made. They are more affordable and accessible due to their unlimited availability. These prints are usually not signed or numbered, making them less exclusive but ideal for those who appreciate the artwork without the focus on collecting limited pieces. ARTWORK CARE

Original artworks are varnished for protection from dust and scratches. They can be cleaned using a white cotton cloth and soapy water. It is important to be gentle when cleaning as my artworks are impasto paintings. This means that there are a lot of thick textures that can easily become damaged if cleaned too harshly. A cotton tip can be used to clean around any crevices in the paint. Displaying original artwork and framed prints indoors and out of direct sunlight will enhance the artwork's longevity. Caution should be taken when cleaning acrylic glazing as it is more likely to scratch than glass.
